A passport service ‘without let or hindrance’?
A passport service ‘without let or hindrance’? – Expat – My Telegraph
Here’s some more information relating to my previous post about Brits abroad and the difficulties they experience in getting passports.
Starting next year it will be even harder for ex-pats to obtain or renew their British passports. From April 2011 only the Passport Office in the United Kingdom will be able issue British passports.
Having just renewed mine I’ll be well into my 77th year before I’ll need a new one. Even though I know how complicated it is to deal with the regional office for the Americas and the Caribbean in Washington, I shall still consider myself lucky if I live long enough to have to deal with a passport office an ocean away.
Kübler-Ross is right: I’m done with denial, anger, bargaining and depression, and now I’ve reached the acceptance stage. At least I’ll be able to get into Bermuda more easily.
